Panera Bread hosted our school age class for some fun bakery experiences. Complete with a hat, apron and of course a cookie to go!! Maddie is doing a great job scoring the bread!!
The 4 Year old children in our Pre-K classroom at Starbuck are enjoying the process of creating beautiful pieces of art. It's the process of doing art, using your imagination to make your own masterpiece that counts!!
OMG!!! Does this just not melt your heart? The children in Ms. Kellees' class had a blast with finger paint and a partner. There's nothing better than creating a masterpiece together! It's the PROCESS NOT THE PRODUCT that counts. Thankful for all the teachers at New Day who give the children opportunities to be creative!!Did someone say February fun? These school age kids crack us up! Many of them are buddies from way back. Getting together during school breaks is always a fun time for them. They didn't have much snow left for their trip to Dry Hill but it didn't seem to bother them a bit!Ms.Lynn made her annual visit to our classrooms on Friday with her homemade Christmas cookies!!The children had a great time decorating their own cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and mini m&m's. We are a lucky to have people like Lynn who enjoy spending time in our center. She will also be hosting our Annual Christmas Caroling event in the church this Wednesday. Playing the piano and leading us through our favorite Christmas songs. Thank you Ms. Lynn for all that you do for the children and staff at New Day XOXOXO
And so it was........ Another successful Feast with Mrs. Gardner and Ms. Georgie's class on November 22, 2016. The children made corn bread, pumpkin pies, popcorn, shook the cream to make the butter and feasted on Cornish Game hens with their families. Each year when I walk into the room to share in the feast, I am reminded of how Thankful I am for teachers at New Day!!
Staff and Children enjoyed some fun activities in the running room during our fall festival on November 9th. Most popular by far was the water table with the orange water and the balance beam between two hay bails! The children also enjoyed a bean bag toss, dabber painting, cinnamon smelling play dough, bubble rap to jump on, and bowling with pumpkins and gourds, Thank you to the Freeman Family for donating the hay which ended up to be great fun on the playground as well!!
Mrs.Gardner decided maybe a putter would not be the right choice for her tee shot! Lol. Lots of laughs out there on Saturday. Beautiful day for the not so serious golfers!! A huge thank you to Kelly's family and friends for helping us to keep her memorial fund going. Proceeds from the tournament are earmarked for 4 year old swim lessons, field trips, classroom equipment, and families at New Day who might be experiencing a financial hardship during the holidays.
Week two and everyone seems to be settling into new rooms, new teachers and making new friends. Swim lessons started this week for the 4 year olds and before you know it we have school pictures and our first field trip. Let the new year begin!!!! |
