Fundraising Activities

Many enrichment activities and items found throughout the Center have been made possible by Fundraising Committee initiatives. To augment the income from childcare fees, our fundraising program includes grants, the wreath sale in the winter, and the hanging basket sale in the Spring. Of course, we don’t expect every family to participate every time in every fundraiser, but we hope you’ll take a look at the list of what we offer throughout the year and choose at least a couple that interest you!
Who are we? The Committee is a group of New Day Board members and parents along with Teresa Boulton and Anne (Stone) Forbes. Current members include, Karen Freeman, Lorraine Irwin, Gabby Thompson, Erin Patterson and Jean Gianfagna. We meet monthly and welcome participation from parents! Where do the proceeds go?
Last year’s funds were used to purchase cameras and I-pads for the classrooms. Over the years, fundraising dollars have been used to upgrade the kitchen, purchase an infant 6 seater buggy, purchase a new laminating machine, replace the carpeting in all the classrooms, pay for enrichment activities for the children outside the center and upgrade classroom equipment. How do I participate? Information on each fundraising activity will be available in your mailbox and online. Of course participation is not required, but we hope you will choose to support our program in some way. Don’t want to participate, but still want to support? You’re welcome at any time of the year to make a tax-deductible contribution to New Day Children’s Center. You may donate by mailing your check made payable to New Day Children’s Center, 327 Franklin St. Watertown, NY 13601. You’ll receive a receipt from New Day showing our 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status, our federal tax identification number, and the amount you donated…everything you need for your tax filing purposes.
