The three year olds have busy days with lots of fun things to do. They love to make things and bake things and listen to stories. It's great fun to learn the Days of the Week song and shake your sillies out! The children enjoy outside play and Wednesday mornings at the Farmers Market in the Summer. There are 2 teachers in each of the three year old rooms and they can have up to 14 children when we are full.
Our Three Year Old Room Staff
Cassie Smith, Assistant Teacher (2013)
I have just recently become a Head Teacher in the upstairs three year old classroom. I graduated from Jefferson Community College in 2012 with an associate's degree in Math/Science. In my free time I enjoy being outside, and spending time with my husband and my family. I knew I wanted to work with children since I was in high school, and New Day gave me the perfect opportunity. I feel very blessed to work with children every day. Watching them laugh, learn, and grow is the most rewarding part of my job.
Amy Slate, Assistant Teacher (2010)
I am the Assistant Teacher in Ms. Cassie's Three Year Old Classroom. I have an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working with young children for 14 years. I was born and raised in the North Country and I enjoy camping and traveling to historical sites. I like working with young children because of their enthusiasm and curiosity for learning about the world around them. It doesn't take much to put a smile on a young child's face and in turn, they put a smile on mine.
Kellee O'Neill, Head Teacher (2011)
Prior to joining New Day, I worked at Benchmark for two years. I graduated from SUNY Morrisville with my associate's degree and SUNY Oswego for my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood. I enjoy working with the children every day and seeing their smiling faces. Nothing feels better than watching a child complete a milestone that they have worked so hard to reach. The families of our children are wonderful to know and form a comforting relationship with. When I’m not working, I’m busy shopping, cooking, enjoying social outings, and having fun with my adorable Corgi, Stig. I live outside of Watertown and enjoy the beauty of the sunsets every night with my boyfriend Kyle.
Mary Ratigliano, Assistant Teacher (2011)
I am the Assistant Teacher in Ms. Kellee's Three Year Old Room. My husband and I have 3 daughters and two grandchildren. I have lived in Watertown most of my life. Working at New Day is a great experience and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I've worked with young children for years and love every minute of it. When a child sees you and their faces light up, there is nothing better than that!
Taylor-Marie Hughes Teachers Aide (2015)
I just recently graduated from Watertown High School with a regents diploma and technical endorsement. I attended the two year BOCES program for Early Childhood Development where my teachers and I realized that working with children was my passion. I enjoy helping to make sure children have a great day and making sure that they leave with a smile on their face. In my free time I love babysitting, reading and writing.
Leisa Delosh, Head Teacher (2006)
I am the Head Teacher in one of the Three year old Pre-School Rooms. I've lived in the Watertown area my whole life and graduated from Copenhagen Central School. I have just completed my Masters Degree in Childhood Education. I enjoy working with young children because they are constantly learning and growing; being able to be a part of that process is priceless.
Danielle Cruz Assistant Teacher (2016)
I am pursuing my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Jefferson Community College. I love seeing children's faces light up when they learn something new! Outside of work I enjoy playing with my two dogs, crafting all kinds of things and spending time with my fantastic husband Jay.
